Frequently asked questions

Is Brilléur's manufacturing unit certified?
Yes, our manufacturing unit is certified according to ISO 22716:2007, the international standard for Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetics. To ensure the safe production of cosmetic products, ISO 22716:2007 provides guidelines for manufacturing, control, storage, and shipping.

Are your products certified by COSMOS Ecocert?
Yes, all Brilléur products are certified as Natural and Organic according to the COSMOS international standard by ECOCERT Greenlife.

How should the products be stored?
To keep your products safe, store them in a dry, cool place (recommended 10-20 degrees Celsius) away from direct sunlight. Humidity and sunlight can accelerate product aging, making them less effective.

What is the shelf life of the products?
This varies by formula—typically, most products have a shelf life of 2 years from the date of production. The products you receive will have a minimum of 6 months shelf life, but on average, it will be between 12 to 24 months. After opening, products have a shelf life of 3 to 24 months. Rest assured, the expiration date is also indicated on the packaging.

How is product testing conducted?
Products go through several phases and testing processes. The formulation process begins after checking ingredient supplier guidelines regarding recommended use and concentration for each ingredient. Sometimes, we even test several hundred samples to determine the best formula.

We believe beauty should be cruelty-free (no animal testing), so we do not test (and will never test) on animals. Instead, each product is tested by volunteers who share their skin reactions after testing and provide their subjective evaluation—both are taken into account when finalizing the formula.

Once the product is created, it is tested in a laboratory, measuring various physical and chemical properties, and determining stability and shelf life, while studying and defining storage standards. By law, the product is tested by a qualified chemist to ensure it meets safety and consistency tests. We also send items to external laboratories to ensure the chosen preservatives work well throughout the shelf life.

What percentage of the product's ingredients are natural and organic?
This varies by formula—please see the product description for the most accurate answer. Generally, in a natural certified formula, at least 95% of the total ingredient amount is natural. In an organic certified formula, at least 95% of the total ingredient amount is natural, with 10% coming from organic farming, and 95% of all plant ingredients being organic.

Is Brilléur's packaging eco-friendly?
Yes—a significant part of our philosophy is creating products with environmental consciousness, which is why our product packaging is recyclable and made from BPA-free materials.

Are Brilléur products vegan?
Most Brilléur products are vegan, except for certain formulas that contain lanolin and beeswax. Since all our products are certified by ECOCERT, the lanolin and beeswax in our formulas are produced in a strictly regulated manner. From sheep farming and beekeeping to the way the ingredients are obtained, every step is monitored to ensure animals are not harmed in any way.

Are Brilléur products safe to use during pregnancy?
All Brilléur products are formulated with clean ingredients and are safety-checked, but they have not been specifically tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women. For those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting a doctor and discussing any concerns.

What allergens do the products contain?
The most common allergens found in the products are Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, and Eugenol. The ingredients of each product are clearly listed on the product page; please check them against the list to identify potential allergens.

Are the products free from parabens/microplastics/silicones/mineral oils and their derivatives?
Yes. No compromises!!! You can be assured that all Brilléur products are free from parabens, mineral oils, silicones, PEGs, chemical UV filters, microplastics, synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, and other questionable ingredients.

Do the products contain alcohol?
Not all types of alcohol are the same, and not all are harmful to the skin—each ingredient in Brilléur's formulas is carefully evaluated to ensure it is safe for use. Please check the ingredient list of each product to see if it contains alcohol and/or alcohol derivatives. However, most products have some traces of alcohol, as most plant extracts (except in oil products) are obtained through alcohol extraction. Therefore, even if no alcohol and/or alcohol derivatives are listed in the INGREDIENTS, we cannot claim that the products are actually alcohol-free.

Are the products sulfate-free?
The only sulfate we use in our products is sodium coco sulfate (SCS), which is approved by the third-party certification organization COSMOS. SCS does not penetrate the epidermis and is significantly less irritating than the commonly used sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).

Do the products contain palm oil and/or its derivatives?
We do not add palm oil to our formulas as a separate ingredient; however, derivatives from palm oil may be part of other ingredients and are present in most products (e.g., palmitic acid), albeit in very low concentrations. All ingredients containing palm oil derivatives are certified by RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), meaning that the plantations are grown using sustainable methods.

Are the fragrances in the products natural?
Yes—we do not use synthetic fragrances. All our fragrance compositions are 100% vegan, carefully created using natural aromatic substances, free from phthalates or other synthetic preservatives.

What is Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C) in the products?
Ascorbyl Palmitate is a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C. Formulated by combining ascorbic acid with palmitic acid, it is used in our products for its antioxidant properties.

Can I order from Brilléur if I live outside the European Union?
Yes, we currently ship only to countries within the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
